Privacy Policy

Device Centro Limited runs this website and the shop at East Legon - Acheampong junction, Accra. We decide how the personal information described on this page is used, so we are responsible for looking after it.

You can look around the shop without an account, and we ask for nothing until you create an account, place an order or contact us. After that, we keep what we need to sell to you and deliver your order:

• Your account. Your name, your email address and your password. The password is stored only in scrambled form, so nobody at the shop can read it. We also note whether you have confirmed your email address.
• Your saved addresses. For each one: the name you give it (such as “Home”), the street, town and region, a Ghana Post GPS code if you add one, a phone number, and a map pin only if you choose “Use my current location”.
• Your orders. What you ordered, the total, whether it is for delivery or pickup, the address you chose, any note you write for the rider, how you pay (mobile money or on delivery) and the mobile money transaction ID you enter.
• Your cart and wishlist. The things you add. They are kept in your browser, and also with your account when you are signed in, so they follow you to your other devices.
• Your reviews. What you write about a product you bought. It is shown with your first name and the first letter of your last name (for example “Ama M.”).
• Your messages. If you write to us, call us or message us on WhatsApp, we keep what we need to help you.
• Sign-in and security details. The type of browser and the internet address each sign-in comes from, and how many times someone has tried to sign in or sign up, so we can protect accounts and stop abuse.

• To take, confirm, prepare and deliver your orders, and to show them to you in My Orders.
• To email you about your account and your orders, for example to confirm an order or tell you it is on its way. We don't send marketing emails today. If that changes, we will ask you first.
• To call or message you when we need to, for example to agree the delivery fee or to find your address.
• To keep accounts and the website safe, and to stop fraud and abuse.
• To answer your questions and complaints.
• To keep the records that our accounts and the law require.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Only the people and services that help us serve you:

• The people who deliver your order see your name, phone number and delivery address, and what is being delivered.
• Our email service (Resend) sends our emails for us, so it handles your email address and the message.
• Our hosting and database providers store the website and its information for us. They keep ordinary server records, such as the internet addresses that visit.
• Mobile money. You pay through your own mobile money provider, which has its own privacy rules. We see only the transaction ID and what you tell us.
• Maps. When you open a map (the street view on our About us page, directions to the shop, or the map of an order), your browser loads it from Google Maps or OpenStreetMap, which can see your internet address and the page you opened.
• WhatsApp. If you message us there, WhatsApp's own privacy rules apply to the chat.
• Affiliates. If you order with an affiliate's discount code, that affiliate can see the order's date, its amount and how it stands. They never see your name or contact details.
• Product photos are kept with an image service (ImageKit). No customer information goes there.
• The authorities, if the law requires it, or to deal with fraud.

Some of these services may keep information on computers outside Ghana.

We use one cookie, and only to keep you signed in. Scripts on the page can't read it, on the live website it is only sent over a secure connection, and it ends when you sign out, or about a month after you last visit.

Your browser also remembers a few things on your own device so the shop works smoothly: your cart and wishlist, the delivery details you typed at checkout, and your last order (so we can show it to you). If you open a link with an affiliate's discount code, it also keeps that code for up to 30 days, so it can be filled in at checkout. These stay on your device, and clearing your browser's data removes them.

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, or any tracking of what you do on other websites.

• Your account, saved addresses, cart and wishlist: until you remove them or ask us to delete your account.
• Order records: for as long as our accounts, tax and the law need them. They include the name, phone number and address you gave for delivery.
• Sign-in and security details: only as long as we need them to keep accounts safe.

• In your account you can see your orders (My Orders), add, change or delete addresses (My Addresses), remove things from your wishlist and cart, and change your password or sign out your other devices (My Profile).
• You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct anything that is wrong (for example your name), or to delete your account. When we delete an account we also delete its saved addresses, cart and wishlist. We may have to keep order records for the time above.
• You can ask us to stop using your information in a way you object to.

To use any of these, write to support@devicecentro.com from the email address on your account, with your name and, if it is about an order, the order number. We will reply as quickly as we can.

If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can also complain to Ghana's Data Protection Commission.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Passwords are stored in scrambled form, the website uses a secure connection (https), too many wrong passwords lock an account for a while, and only our team can see orders and customer details, each person with the access their job needs.

No website can be perfectly safe, so please choose a password you don't use anywhere else, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

Our shop is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to order for you.

We may update this page. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we change something important, such as using your information for a new purpose, we will tell you, for example by email.
